christmas jew

bought our christmas tree a week ago :) even before december rolled in. i sat in the back of the car with it.

we put up lights on our deck :)

these guys are solar powered. perdy cute.

got my slipper boots out. i got these a long while ago from old navy and need another pair. they're so comfy-cozy.

can't go wrong with makin hot chocolate while decorating the tree :)

we added a few more lights and ornaments since this. i was worried kisa would mess with the tree but she's been really good so i actually added a bit more ornaments a little lower.

YES, I KNOW. baseballs? footballs? AND basketballs? on my tree? i mean our tree.... haha.... i love matt too much to allow this :) but i figured we may as well both love our tree ornaments, so why not? this tree screams matt.

these were just supposed to be owl ornaments but since we haven't found a tree topper we liked, we figured these worked fine :) i've been trying to find a branch to perch them higher up on.

peacock, snowflakes, and apples. weird?

gingerman

been lovin the view from the couch. :) oh florida.

man, i'm never gunna wanna take it down.
can you tell how badly i wish i lived somewhere cold again?

another day off with our love for prague and first time grilling

yesterday we spent another lunch at cie's and enjoyed it immensely. this time we sat outside because the weather was perfect. we ordered 2 kinds of fruit infused black tea and tried the thai chicken rice soup and yet again... the curry lentil. with it, we shared the thai chicken salad and the dill tuna sandwich. we ate up every last bite!

after lunch and grocery shopping, we met up with my mom and brother at sweet water. i was sticking with the czech theme for the day and decided to try this beer. pretty close to a pilsner from prague.

after sweet water, we came straight home to FINALLY try our nakladany brie AND to get in the mood- what better way is there than to drink prague beer? we went to total wine earlier in the day and bought some staropramen and pilsner urquell to pair with this dish that had been marinating for about 5 days. the cheese was really good. i cannot say it was as good as the hermelin cheese the czechs use, but for our first try we were pleased. we ate it at room temperature which is how they do it there. i'd say the only thing i'd change next time is put less peppercorns in the jar cause they managed to seep their way into the cheese and even though they softened we didn't really enjoy eating them(personal preference). we brought the cheese outside and lit up our grill for the first time....

we skewered up some organic chicken sausage with peppers and onions. we brushed oil and spices all over them.

i love that while we're cooking, the music is playing from the speakers of the grill. soooo tight. :)

all in all, yet another beautiful day off together. i couldn't have asked for better weather sitting out on our deck drinking czech beer out of czech mugs and enjoying the cheese that reminded us of our amazing time in prague... ahhh.....

bday

just wanted to share some photos from matt's birthday. we were weary about how it was going to turn out considering the "hurricane" that was supposed to come through that day, but the rain stopped at 7pm and didn't come back at all during the nite. we were able to do some grilling and spend time outside. the weather was breezy and cool and about 25 people showed throughout the nite.

just a few shots-
