why does my immune system hate me?

i'm on my 4th day of being sick. matt bought me two boxes of tissues and i've gone through both of them already. drinking tea like a madwoman... and eating things that i can't even taste. i'm staying away from sweets and dairy. lastnite we had such a great dinner.... grainy bread with homemade guacomole, homemade hummus, and tons of cut up veggies from radishes to cucumbers...  couldn't taste a thing. so depressing, especially when i look forward to actually having an appetite for once.

the weather is so beautiful. and it's hard to find the motivation to get ready. yesterday, i HAD to mail a letter i wrote for my grandpa that i've been putting off, and so i made my way outside and headed to the post office... and along the way went grocery shopping. it knocked out all the energy i had in me. i really wanted to lay outside in the grass and read but once we got back home all i wanted was to hug the bed and my box of tissues.

today will be 70 degrees and the sun is shining through the windows. i'm drinking tea, and staring at a banana that sits next to echinacea and homeopathic pills. i'm drinking this stuff called vincentka, a water from moravia that has healing benefits, apparently. it tastes like sprite with salt, without the syrup and sweetness... ugghhh.

ohh, the routine of being sick, sitting on the computer allllll day is making me crazy. hopefully this weekend will look up for my health!

for now i will leave you with this;
ray of light.

some notes.

-today i got bitched out by my work for calling in sick. the "owner" couldn't even recognize who i was because my voice is so sickly. and the "manager" wouldn't let me say a word while she talked down to me about how i should've called yesterday about it. WELL I WASN'T AS SICK YESTERDAY, GTFO.
-when i called my private lesson to cancel she consoled me and told me about czech medicines to get. see, this is why i'd rather work for MYSELF. i hate companies.
-went and read outside for a couple of hours this afternoon with my amazing guy who has been taking care of me with tea & such.
-now i'm laying in bed shivering and blowing my nose nonstop.
-our friend paul's birthday is today so we're celebrating tonite at zly casy for some belgian beers and nakladany hermelin(my favorite pickled cheese appetizer of all time... ) this isn't smart knowing that i'm sick, but i passed up going to a writer's workshop festival reading lastnite with don delillo because i was achy... i need to suck it up for this one.
-taxes are way too high in the czech republic. i hate having almost half of my paycheck taken out. i can't even live off a normal paycheck! jerks.
-just learned how to text people off skype, but i don't think i can receive them?
-ahem, sneeze, cough.
-i hate being sick.

the end.

it's settled, then!

i awoke at 8am. yes- i'm sick. my throat is in pain. i'm eating celery sticks and ricecakes whilst browsing the web in bed. crumbs e v e r y w h e r e.

making some final decisions on our accommodations in paris. first i booked a hotel for 3 nites for $280 special(originally $450)... and then i booked 2 nites for a complete flat to ourselves for $150.... meanwhile trying to find a place for our first nite on the couchsurfing website to save some money. and then as time went on(and money dwindling down in our bank accounts with less than 6 weeks to go in europe), we've continued our search for even cheaper options. and i think that's that. for both places that i booked, i can cancel up until the day before with no fees. in case we get screwed last minute and someone cancels on us, we have a backup place to stay. i think today i am going to book all 3 nites with a 42 year old guy named eric from england on couchsurfing.org (he's verified and identity checked)  he has over 40 positive reviews, lives in a great location(10 minutes walk from monmartre), is a tourguide, runs a bar in a hostel, is a history buff(matt's match), and is just very cool in general. so... i think that IS that. 3 nites in paris... for free. yeah yeah, the privacy thing sucks, but on our last nite he leaves at 8pm and he won't be home till the next morning, so we'll have his place to ourselves. now we can feel a bit less stressed, and have money to spend allllll on food... :) smart? i hope so!

now... time to cure these symptoms and head to a lesson in a couple hrs that i don't want to go to. wahhh. baby's back.
