chicken love

we recently baked a chicken and then i used the leftovers a few days later and turned it into a soup.

spinach, fingerling potatoes and organic chicken with an herbed butter

the soup turned out sooooooo good. i wish i had more of it.

i woke up at 9 and got breakfast together while matt slept in 'til 10. i juiced some oranges, and made pancake batter. i put a heart cookie cutter on the griddle and filled them with batter and hoped for the best. well, they didn't turn out very well so i added a knife to the project. i set up breakfast outside on the deck and woke up matt. he was all cute and messy haired(as was i) and ready to eat.

after we cleaned up breakfast, we got dressed for a run. i'm glad matt pushed me to do it because it was a really beautiful morning and i felt great afterward. i actually had some energy for work. i headed to the spa after i showered and worked until 5. i got to go on call so i could go home and do some catch up. matt had sunflowers me all over the house and around 7 set out a yummy cheese course. we caught up on some dvr and watched 2 broke girls, new girl, and californication. then matt prepped for dinner and i finally got to see what food he went out and got for us. delishhhh. dinner was yummy.

grilled zuchinni, squash, red peppers, and asparagus with garlic bread for the seafood feast.

third valentine's day together with matt cooking me dinner... so much better than going out. i love you matt <3

kisa was begging.

and the many beautiful sunflowers matt got me... cause i don't like roses at all.

fondue x 2

as you know, i went to the melting pot last week for my birthday. i get all their emails and found out that every month they host a "girls night out" and donate money to a certain charity. i decided to ask my girls if they wanted to try it out, and everyone agreed. so we went lastnite to celebrate. we took some photos to capture our girly moments(what's new?) we were sadly missing michelle, but she had more important things to do; grad school homework. i applaud her for that. although, it seems like i'd choose cheese over school any day. ;)

my birthday

so.... yesterday was great! first, matt and i had brunch at crepes by the sea, visited my grandma, saw the the descendants at the theatre(it was really good, heavy though), ate dinner at the melting pot, and then ended the day with friends and family at sweet water bar.

a breakfast crepe- roasted red peppers, spinach, goat cheese, egg, and jalopeno sauce

dessert crepe- nutmeg, brown sugar, lemon, bananas, and strawberries

iced coffee.... to die for....

i had to bring some of this jalopeno sauce home.

my 95 year old nanny modeling in (gasp)....my new car!

the melting pot is one of my favorite places to go for a special occasion. or just cheese fondue. we had a 4 course meal... cheese fondue, salad, meats/veggies, and what? you think chocolate fondue... nope, we got cheese again. a different kind... and i was so happy matt agreed to it. i may be in the minority wanting cheese over chocolate. i was in cheese heaven.
