spring fever

whatuhhhhh weekend! we spent A LOT of time outside at parks because the weather was amazingly perfect. (i might've actually gotten some color on my skin.)

vague breakdown of the weekend:

i took a 3 hour nap on friday afternoon due to waking up at 6am and dealing with kids for 4 hours. the usual. i hope it turns around soon that i don't want to shoot myself in the face every friday. it wasn't this bad in the beginning... anyhow, that nite we went out to have a welcoming andy back to prague dinner at fraktal. i ate delicious carrot soup with cilantro and pickled hermelin cheese. in love with this cheese. oh yes.

on saturday we went to the farmers market. it was definitely not what we expected, but still worth it. lots of specialty stands. i guess nothing is really in season yet. no veggies were available besides potatoes, but we ate some yummy potato pancakes with slaw. our purchases ended up getting some honey, apples, and pears. i also got a couple mad apple(czech made) ciders for our park picnic. good choice. it was tough trying to speak to the vendors, but we managed. i had a nice chat with the old couple selling the cider. cute. our time in the park was so fun. we laid, played hack, ate chips, drank, and soaked up the sun.  we were outside for like 5 hours and then were all so hungry we headed to lokal(slow food movement czech restaurant) and then spent some time under the charles bridge. so lucky to be in europe.

today we woke up at 10, did some grocery shopping, made breakfast and then went to our usual writing group at friends cafe. afterward we yet again had another picnic at the park, this time with wine. what is happening to me? i picked up drinking too much lately outside... but really, sometimes there's nothing better than being with friends outside all day.. kinda buzzed.

after writing this blog i realized that it's really quite difficult to actually explain in words how great this weekend was for me. well, maybe that says enough.
