i kept hearing about the salt suite through word of mouth and figured i'd check out the website and see about it for myself. the first session is free and so of course as soon as i knew that i called and made an appointment for matt and i to go. it's typically $45 for 45 minutes.
i told christalyn about it and she also decided to go with us. (BY THE WAY.... i'm going to be an aunt! i'm ecstatic. christalyn and iam are pregnant and due in august! figured i'd finally break the news out. can't wait to hang out with a baaaaabbbbyyyy.)
so anyhow, on friday we headed over for the last spot at 5:30. the 3 of us shared the salt suite with one other guy( who comes 3x a week.)there are 7 chairs inside. the owner came in the room and explained the deal to us. they shipped over 24,000 lbs of salt from the dead sea to create the salt room. the walls are covered and so are the floors. it felt like sand. very very dry sand. they make sure to keep the room as dry as possible and say it's more sanitary than a hospital. you have to wear socks and you can sit or lay in your comfy chair for 45 minutes reading, relaxing, or napping.
halotherapy helps you breathe better and it can help with ailments such as; asthma, bronchitis, cold/flu, cough, allergies, sinusitis and skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis.
i felt extremely relaxed during our session. the lights were dimmed, music was playing, and i just read and practiced some breathing exercises through my nose(holding one nostril closed while inhaling through the open nostril 6 times and vice versa)
they also have a kids salt room which is super cute, yoga classes that also have dry salt air blowing throughout the room, and they hold workshops often.
i definitely recommend checking it out, especially if you have any conditions you want help with. there's not much to be skeptic about :) considering the first time is free and all....

This sounds so cool!!! I bought Alex and I a group on to one of these places in New York, but it went out of business before we could use it! I have to find another one, looks so amazing!
